About ITM's Founder - Rick Nyman

Rick NymanAfter service in the US Air Force, Rick attended the University of Maryland, majoring in engineering and mathematics while working at Digital Communications Corporation.  During this period, he helped develop many of the digital techniques used in high-speed satellite communications systems.  As an engineer at Telcom Inc., he participated in the design and development of specialized secure communications systems. 

MCI Telecommunications recruited Rick and he served in a variety of management positions.  These included assignments ranging from management of the Satellite Communications group to the responsibility for the MCI international switched voice network for Asia and Latin America where he was instrumental in directing explosive network growth.

Following his tenure at MCI, Rick relocated to Moscow, Russia, where he held a number of senior management positions, including Director, Network Development, and Deputy General Manager (COO) for RAMSATCOM, a joint venture of Andrew Corporation and several Russian partners.  After returning to the US, he directed the Corporate Development Function for the Andrew Distributed Communications Systems Group, focusing on International Business Development.

Recruited by IXC Communications (now Broadwing) as Director of International Operations,Rick was instrumental in negotiating several international joint venture agreements.  He successfully led efforts to negotiate and execute the first facilities exchange agreement in Mexico between Marcatel and Iusacell, valued at over $30M.

He served as Vice President, Business Development for The Global TeleExchange, an Internet based Telecommunications trading platform.  He forged strategic alliances with potential partners and assisted in developing the Sales Team.

Most recently, Rick founded International Telecom Management LLC, a boutique consulting firm that advises telecom operators worldwide on the dynamics of the changing telecom industry.  Representative assignments included serving as interim COO for two companies as they sought additional funding, and he was instrumental in preparing the design and tender for the national telecommunications infrastructure in Afghanistan in 2003.

Rick is an accomplished public speaker, and sought after to present at industry seminars and conferences.

Rick is a high energy, results oriented executive.  He not only thinks strategically, but also has the skill and knowledge to develop and implement tactical plans. His high profile position in the telecommunications/Internet arena and extensive international experience and “C” level contacts will ensure mutual success. 

Rick holds a BS degree in Management Studies from the University of Maryland.
